Keith Posted March 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2009 Found this today: Army captain bars marked STERLING and with snowflake pattern. Date range for these would be? Thanks.
reinking71 Posted March 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2009 Here is the snowflake pattern with the Amcraft hallmark on the back of an engineer officer’s castle. Hope this helps. Andrew
teufelhunde.ret Posted March 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2009 Thank you Andrew for this pic. Would you start a new post in the "hallmarks" reference section for us. notinfringed Posted March 19, 2009 Share #6 Posted March 19, 2009 Infanty Officer Rifles, screwback and pushpin backs. I think I may have the "US" to go along with your screw-back rifles. two sets, one is missing the nuts, both are unmarked, but have a distinctly different "snowflake" than the amcraft. here is a close up of the nut Does anyone have any Idea on a maker? notinfringed Posted March 19, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 19, 2009 I found a few more in my collection. I'm not sure I would call these "snowflakes", as they look more like Palm trees. These are both made by beverly craft levi
sgtwamp Posted March 20, 2009 Share #8 Posted March 20, 2009 I like the "palm tree" pattern, those are neat. First time I've seen them chris
reinking71 Posted March 20, 2009 Share #9 Posted March 20, 2009 If I remember right, the palm trees are from Beverly Craft in California.
seanmc1114 Posted November 6, 2013 Share #10 Posted November 6, 2013 Here is an unmarked snowflake pattern Colonel insignia. It appears to be a little smaller than the standard size to me, so I photographed next to an Infantry branch insignia for size comparison. I don't know that much about the various attaching devices but I don't think I have ever seen a pinback of that type. Is it indicative of any particular manufacturer or time period? seanmc1114 Posted November 6, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 6, 2013 Here is what I believe to be a 1st Lieutenant bar with snowflake patter. It almost looks gold to me, but since it is marked sterling, I assume that it is silver. Is that correct or can gold ranks insignia also be sterling?
