Chris Posted February 28, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2023 I know the 414th was a prisoner processing unit during WWII, and again in 1948. I am guessing the first two letters stand for prisoner war, but would like to know for sure what the abbreviation means. Thanks for any help. Chris Posted February 28, 2023 Author Share #2 Posted February 28, 2023 I think I figured it out. The last two letters stand for "Escort Guard". Thanks anyway!
tredhed2 Posted February 28, 2023 Share #3 Posted February 28, 2023 For those who haven't , it's Prisoner of War Escort Guard. Not in Campaign Credit Register.

Chris Posted March 1, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted March 1, 2023 I'll post the back when it arrives. The unit did earn a streamer for the European, African Middle Eastern medal for its activities in Northern France (1944).
