Brian Keith Posted February 7, 2023 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2023 Neat item. That system is quite interesting for sure. A museum I'm associated with has a suit, helium container bag and a day lift line and bag on display. I've posted photos of it on this forum, but some things have disappeared over the years. You have the bag for the night lift line that would have had lights attached to it. Yes it is an uncommon item. This system was operated by the Air Force, I've never heard about the Navy using it. It is quite involved and requires much training and dedicated, specially rigged aircraft. Long range helicopters basically made this system obsolete. A buddy of mine's father who was SF, trained with it in the '50's. Thanks for posting it. BKW

mohawkALSE Posted February 9, 2023 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2023 Id say uncommon but might be less uncommon in CT if thats where you actually are, pretty sure the Fulton Company was out of Danbury or in that area. I recall someone talking to us about it when I was in Civil Air Patrol out of DXR.

I believe they date to 1968 as best I can tell from the faded ink on the label. Would be interested in selling them to a collector. I’m in Duluth Minnesota.
