USMC Cross-flap Canteen cover?

Hello,

 

I picked this up at a local yard sale this weekend and really don't have any reason to think it is a repo other the. The fact it is in such good shape.  Just wanted to ask your guys opinion of it.  The canteen and cup are definitely original.

Canteen and cup are good.  I don’t believe the carrier is.  Texture of the material, and copper-colored hanger, are two attributes that I’m not a fan of.

I forgot to mention in the add that the copper-colored hanger seemed weird to me as well.

The front looks very good indeed, for sure can be mistaken as a original. However the back is definitely showing that it’s a reproduction. It still could make a good canteen set in a USMC World War 2 impression.
