Just received this set.  Even the goggles are named to the same soldier.

Very salty.  Wonder if this was in Afghanistan?

As later Head-loc system in Foliage green but has weathered to a sand color except for near the attached points inside.

Lots of extra items with this one...

actually the chin strap is the early ops core chinstrap, which would be accurate for this time period. This version was made prior to the big contract for them, which has different details, didn't come in foliage and were made by a subcontractor. These were often times purchased at the unit level or by the individual solider.

Great helmet! Most of the ACU type got stripped down and rebuilt when the Army switched to OCP.

Thanks for the info saxecoburg.  I called it later because it was after the first type "H" harness.

I forgot to post the label.

The contract dates to March of 2009, so I'd wager you're more looking at an OIF/OND deployment than an OEF.  The larger proportion of troops were still deploying to Iraq, and the manufacturing/logistics side of things likely put these into the system much later in the year.  By July 2010 the Army had switched over to multicam for troops deploying to Afghanistan, and you wouldn't have seen line units wearing it until the fight against ISIS.  It is possible it is an Afghanistan used lid, but more likely to have seen service in Iraq.

Thank you RedLegGI.  Oddly enough I found the helmet band up in the underside of the cover.

Very nice!  I'm guessing name, battle roster number, and blood type?  A few units had their own SOP, but not very common.

Yes to all three.  The name is off center but works with the NVG mount...
