mvmhm Posted June 8, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2022 A day after the 78th anniversary of the D-Day landings we received this medal set earned by Darlene's uncle, Private First Class Joseph M. Peterson who was severely wounded on June 6th; his injuries led to his discharge from the Army in November 1944 and resulted in his death at the age of just 45 in 1964.
