River Rat Patch Question

I compared your patch to ones on eBay and didn’t see any exactly like yours (usually the fakes on there are listed repeatedly).

This doesn’t prove anything either way but what you have is not on there. The design is very similar but the threads etc., don’t match.

I would think it ok. The letter S is a mess. River Rats patches were made by various ( many ) tailor shops during the war and post war. Quiet a few were made in the US after the

 

aircrew returned home. I have had around 10 - 12 over the years some ID'd with crew members other unit patches and some just singles I happened to like.

I decided to pass on that first patch. Luckily got this one recently. Japanese made. And the green mountain was a nice variation.

The "green mountain" is "Thud Ridge".
