US Navy WW2 KABAR?

.....Hello everyone...picked this up at an obscure antique place my wife pulled me into...😆...price seemed reasonable so I took a chance that this may be a WW2 US Navy KABAR...an earlier one?....from what I"ve seen on the n et,some were marked Navy(?) others werent...not sure,so this is why I posted this here hoping for some enlightenment....would appreciate any info🙂

No comment on the knife, I’ll leave the to the experts-

 

But for the scabbard, it should be easy enough to date, I should have a chart somewhere but I’ll have to look.

 

Update: managed to find it, only an approximate range but it’s a start.

The knife is WWII. There was a light grey, "Bonderized" blade finish and a dark Parkerized blade finish variation. Both variations blade marked "KA-BAR" on one side only. Bonderized variation shown in pictures. These WWII KA-BAR variations are sometimes called "blank blades".
