Here is a grouping from Pvt. Walter Rhoads of St. Louis, Missouri. He was an infantryman in the 138th assigned to the 35th Division. The yard long was taken in 1919 upon the unit’s return. Pvt. Rhoads pen marked his location on the yardlong.

Excellent grouping.  I really liked the pennant -- different from most that I have seen.  Thanks for posting it.

Simply wonderful stuff - my grandfather was in this company, having been transferred with about 30 other soldiers from Company D, 356th Infantry, in April 1918.  He might well be in that yard-long 😀

Here is my grandfather, in photo taken in France after the Armistice - Company D, 138th Infantry.
