PMPearl Posted February 14, 2021 #1 Posted February 14, 2021 Hi, I'm searching all informations about this one. What do you think about engraving ? WWII good one ? Thank you very much
Blacksmith Posted February 14, 2021 #2 Posted February 14, 2021 Honestly, I clicked on this topic, because I read the title, and wondered, “How in the heck did they fit that last name on there?” I started medal collecting buying hand-engraved BSMs, so I’ve seen a bunch of them. I have never seen one engraved in a circle like that, but an inclined to think it’s good. The lettering looks absolutely right, it’s just in a layout that is out of the ordinary, due to the length of the last name. I like it a lot.
aerialbridge Posted February 14, 2021 #3 Posted February 14, 2021 +1 Doing the oversized "J" with a flourish makes aesthetic sense to fill the void in the center. Cool medal, be fun to see another one out there where this engraver used the same Plan B.

aznation Posted February 15, 2021 #16 Posted February 15, 2021 You're welcome. I looked on both newspapers.com and newspaperArchives.com for any articles on him and didn't come up with any. Also Google searches yielded no results.
