Gregory Posted December 27, 2008 Share #53 Posted December 27, 2008 From what wars are the pin-up girls Natalie Wood, Sophie Marceau or Catherine Denueve? They are not from pin-up girls era of 1930s-1950s. When they were movie superstars the soldiers had pornographic magazines and nobody needed such beautiful women to pin-up them on the walls, in the tanks, aircraft etc. Let's try to focus on the period when pin-up girls existed in pop culture/subculture of the military. This period is precisely defined in American culture and Natalie Wood, Sophie Marceau or Catherine Denueve do not belong to it. This topic cannot navigate to small madness when we call Charlize Theron "pin-up girl".
37thguy Posted December 27, 2008 Share #54 Posted December 27, 2008 Natalie Wood would have been a pin up in the 60's as well as Barbara Eden and some of the others listed on here, but.. they are not from the Golden Age of pin-ups. I guess maybe we should list them with the war that they would have been displayed?

And a little bit of 'allure' for good measure. I'll scan or photograph my vargas calender tomorrow if i get time, some fantastic ones in there. Bill Posted January 4, 2009 Share #73 Posted January 4, 2009 Found this site that does pin ups for todays vet. http://www.pinupsforvets.com/gallery.html It belongs to Gina Elise, and the following is from her site. We all know that a pin-up girl’s photos are only as good as the photographer behind the lens. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity and joy to work with very special photographers, who all generously donated their talents to this special project that supports our hospitalized Veterans. ( I didn’t even have to twist their arms !) They all liked the idea of helping our Veterans, and they all volunteered their time and extraordinary talents to help this pin-up girl put together three “Pin-Ups For Vets” calendars. (Am I a lucky girl, or what !!!) For the 2009 “Pin-Ups For Vets” calendar, I decided to offer up a “smörgåsbord” - a visual feast that showcases the photography work of each of my three wonderful photographers !!! I am only offering up the “first course” here in the gallery for you to see! The “en trees” and “desserts” are in the calendar for you to enjoy when you make your purchase. And you can feel good knowing there are “no calories” - and the best part is that the proceeds once again go to support health care programs for our hospitalized Vets and recovering troops ! You will feel good knowing that you helped our brave heroes! Thank you so much! Please visit her site and see what she has to offer. Thanks Bill
