I could use some help with one of the notations on a WWII Aircraft Record Card...I know that CON is condemned and SOXO is 8th Air Force and the Date is 1/05/44...but what does AFMSE stand for ?....The ship was shot down.

I believe what you think is AFMSE is actually AFMSC and below is what it stands for.

Also, AFMSC stands for "Air Force Office (Manager) of Statistical Control". That's where the loss reason is obtained from Headquarters, USAF.
