Eric Queen Posted September 27, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2016 In late August 1942 twenty six Canadian NCO's and Commissioned Officers were sent to Fort Benning, GA to be trained at the US jump school there. This group of men were to be trained in the US and then return to be the cadre of instructors at the new (still under construction at the time) Canadian jump school at Shilo. Corporal Ernest (Ernie) Grimes was one of those 26 men.

Eric Queen Posted September 27, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted September 27, 2016 Icing on top. Grime's original CPB pocket patch made only for those who were at Benning. Notice the "Georgia USA". Perhaps the only one to survive.
Eric Queen Posted September 27, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted September 27, 2016 Not something you see everyday with a very distinct US connection so thought I would share it here.

treetop Posted January 1, 2017 Share #17 Posted January 1, 2017 Yes, a great patch indeed. I believe that back in the 70's the Canadian Airborne kit shop used to sell a patch along these lines but certainly not this beauty
