Jeeper704 Posted October 29, 2015 Share #28 Posted October 29, 2015 The patch shown below-as I stated in post #10-was obtained by me (along with a number of other beautiful hand embroidered bullion patches) from a GI stationed in occupied Germany 1946-1949. He intended to display them when he returned home, but they sat stored in a shoe box in his closet for over 40 years until I acquired them. There is no question this TD patch-as well as similarly constructed TD patches-are 100% original. FINALLY a clear answer. Thank you! Erwin
ocsfollowme Posted October 29, 2015 Share #29 Posted October 29, 2015 100% original early post war German made. I acquired a nearly identical one from a vet stationed in occupied Germany 1946-49. All were hand embroidered which accounts for small variations in design observed on similar original TD patches. He said it here too
WorldWarPatches Posted November 1, 2015 Share #30 Posted November 1, 2015 Curious about other folks thoughts on this patch. Thanks! s-l1600.jpg My thoughts on this one are that I got it at a great price and how good it looks in my collection of TD's
broker Posted November 1, 2015 Share #31 Posted November 1, 2015 Can we get into the habit of calling it German made rather than Post-German made. Unless someone has a Pre-German made TD patch in which case I would be interested in seeing it.
tredhed2 Posted November 1, 2015 Share #32 Posted November 1, 2015 Can we get into the habit of calling it German made rather than Post-German made. Unless someone has a Pre-German made TD patch in which case I would be interested in seeing it. The term is "post-war" because, believe it or not, many novices think that both German and Japanese made insignia were made DURING the war. WorldWarPatches Posted November 1, 2015 Share #33 Posted November 1, 2015 I always thought the SPS (Secret Patch Service) would sneak behind enemy lines and break into shops and make patches, correct me if I'm wrong.

coastie56 Posted December 5, 2015 Share #39 Posted December 5, 2015 Just saying something is fake is a fairly worthless comment. If you think the patch isn't real explain please explain yourself for the other members education. Good comment!
firefighter Posted December 6, 2015 Share #40 Posted December 6, 2015 Good comment! Excellent point. I find myself doing that from time to time. I try to explain myself but sometimes forget.
