It's a similar problem with this late 20s into the 30s guy, as Colorized portrait as well I posted it asking for ID help too.
patches Posted November 28, 2023 Author #208 Posted November 28, 2023 One 1st Sergeant Lyle E. White of the 14th Infantry Panama Canal Zone 1937, White designed some kind of trigger less rifle, can't find anything really on that online, Found this photo and the story on the weapon in a November 1937 Army Periodical, he also was awarded a Soldiers Medal as you see. Much to my surprise he is talked about this Lyle E. White, but as a case of the wrong man for a medal grouping or something. Here's the rather confused dialogs on him, member emccomas, looking for a definitive ID on a medal https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/96234-question-about-purple-hearts/#comment-709363 https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/341358-ph-7383-still-looking-for-the-recipient/#comment-2743189 https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/160297-lyle-e-white-followup-more-info/#comment-1212574

Sam Lloyd Hunnicutt as it would be is the Father of actress UK based Gayle Hunnicutt, and is the Grandfather of British actor Nolan Hemmings. The son of Gayle Hunnicutt and British Actor David Hemmings. Gayle Hunnicutt as the Czarina Alexandra in the 1974 British Mini Series Fall of Eagles, Gayle passed a few months ago in London, August 31 at age 80.

Maj Gen Light himself however unfortunately died in service into the following year, February 1941, heart attack??? Here's a 1937 photo of Beightler when he was Brig Gen and C.O. of the Buckeye Division's 74th Infantry Brigade, Shoulders are cropped but he was probably wearing the unit DIs on his Shoulder Loops, the 74th Infantry Brigade
patches Posted July 6 Author #216 Posted July 6 1st Lieutenant Floyd D. Elsifor, 339th Infantry 85th Division February 1941, an interesting one, as by February 1941 the bulk of the reserves are already called to active, the duty, the Divisions being mere Paper Originations, we guess some offices and men remained as say custodians of these units till they too were activated, interesting too how he wears no CD patch. Floyd D. Elsifor himself is called to active duty soon, assigned to the 2nd Infantry 5th Division.
