I just picked up this riker of Vietnam era beercan DUIs. There are some VN units included and the Specialist-5 pair are pretty unique. I have never seen any like that before.

Nice collection. The 1st one looks like a PSYOP unit. The one with Sylvester the cat is possibly an AF unit? Is the one next to the 5th DIV for a golf tournament?

Great collection; I really like the SP5 insignia.

One reason that you rarely see the Vietnamese made rank pins is they were fragile and the pins broke off the thin metal frames constantly. I get the impression most troops just went with sewn on versions.

That chevron in the upper right looks to be a rank for the Vietnamese Air Force. I think this may have been worn as an equivalent rank badge by US personnel training the Vietnamese, because the Vietnamese typically wore cloth rank chevrons.

Very nice pick up,

Here are a few RVN made chevrons from my personal collection for comparison

Is there an easy way to tell if they're RVN-made?? Obviously the two "square" ones stick out, but the others look...."normal".
