Cobra 6 Actual Posted March 27, 2022 Share #551 Posted March 27, 2022 Well, it came out just after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. It was meant to be a joke that with the USSR gone many KGB officers would have to find work at the CIA. I think Smokey Mountain Knife Works sold these, but I somehow missed out on getting one, so I’m still looking.
Boy Howdy Posted March 31, 2022 Share #552 Posted March 31, 2022 Another horrible FAKE Zippo.... This one hurts my eyes just looking at it....$233.75 today on the bay.
Cobra 6 Actual Posted March 31, 2022 Share #553 Posted March 31, 2022 That is terrible, BH. I think when eBay got rid of the ability to contact other people on eBay this “fakes scam” only got worse. Much worse. I recall several times in the past that I contacted a seller about a fake Zippo he was selling as authentic and got no response or change in the listing. I would then contact the bidders to warn them off. Can’t do that now.

I said "NO", just the ones that look like his. No response, auction continued....
Cobra 6 Actual Posted March 31, 2022 Share #555 Posted March 31, 2022 Exactly, BH. You could have easily said that “No, only about 99.9% of the ones on eBay are fake.”

gnrtool Posted April 11, 2022 Share #561 Posted April 11, 2022 Here's a WW2 black crackle lighter I picked up a few weeks ago. It doesn't have a makers mark but it's a bit heavier & wider than a Berkley black crackle I own. One side has a Air Transport Command DUI while the other side has a Air Service Command DUI attached. My grandfather served in the ATC as a flight clerk so buying it was a no brainer for me.
