Stony Posted August 15, 2013 Share #21 Posted August 15, 2013 Nice grouping for sure. I saw an Ike jacket last weekend with 12th Armored patch w/"Hell on Wheels" on it on the right sleeve and 771st Armored patch on the left sleeve. ETO ribbon with battle stars and some other ribbons. Just how rare are 771st patches and/or jackets? I might have to pick this one up if it's worth it.

Stony Posted August 16, 2013 Share #23 Posted August 16, 2013 What was the asking price? $175 with pants, dog tags and some paperwork. Also, both armored patches had dog tag chain sewn around their borders. Was this authorized or just something soldiers did in their spare time? 36-tex Posted August 16, 2013 Share #24 Posted August 16, 2013 I was told once that the dog-tag chain was stitched around the patches to help prevent them from being snagged and torn off. It also certainly was done because it looked cool! If you can get it for $150 of less I would buy it.
Stony Posted August 16, 2013 Share #25 Posted August 16, 2013 I think I'll do that.
