KurtA Posted December 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2007 Hi- If you paid any decent money for the 101st Airborne patch and you can get your money back from the seller, you should. It's not an original patch. Nothing made like that was ever worn. I'd guess it was recently made in Pakistan for the collector market. I only mention this because you just bought it and perhaps you can get a refund. Just trying to help you out. Kurt

gwb123 Posted December 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2007 Unfortunately, I have to agree on the 101st patch. It is a classic Pakistani made example. The ribbed background material, the embroidery thread used for lettering and the design, and the "tar paper" black backing are all signs. The wool base material is very typical as well. For more on Pakistani made fakes see: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...st=0#entry82231 http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...p?showtopic=866 Very nice Belgian uniform though. I have had difficulty finding a refernce for unit patches worn by the Belgian Army.
