gwb123 Posted November 23, 2011 #4 Posted November 23, 2011 I had just posted another thread on some Landmark Books, children's history books printed in the 1950's and 1960's. Some of the authors were famous in their own right... the gentleman that wrote book on D-Day had actually landed on D-Day himself. He later said he wrote the book for kids so he had a better understanding of where he had been during the battle!
manayunkman Posted November 23, 2011 #5 Posted November 23, 2011 Hey that is exactly what happened to my cat !!! In post #2 you say " this might be better than you think ". Do you say that because the author saw action or like when an artist dies the price of their art goes up and now the book is worth more. Or maybe I didn't get enough sleep and I have no idea what is going on. Regardless I sure would love to see more pictures of this book.
kammo-man Posted November 23, 2011 Author #6 Posted November 23, 2011 Sorry for the quality of the pictures ..........my camera kinda took a right turn and is shootin bad . Heavy stuff for a child in 1945 ........but then again kids were very tough back then . the life boat , with Gunner in the middle .
