Do you have pics of soldiers during ww2 miss such mess tray in use in period pics ?

 

With this such design pattern for ww2 manufacture

There might be a date and manufacturer on the back of the plastic one.

The ones I have seen in both materials have makers and dates marked on the reverse.

When I was in grade school we had those in the cafeteria for lunch.  Most I believe (metal and composite) were made in the 50's but some were WWII. Not sure about the composite WWII dates, but metal for sure.
