Can anyone tell me the era? I was told it is Japan made.

Per Wikipedia, the 37th AARS operated both at Danang, Vietnam and Udorn, Thailand during the Vietnam War.

 

Without a bigger or more detailed photos I would guess your patch was made in Thailand.

Well, this is the hazard in relying on one source of information.

 

Here is another website that indicates that their were 37th AARS detachments operational into the 1980's.

 

With your larger photo I would say that was made in Korea probably in the 1980's.

I don't think the "Jolly Green" patch was worn after the Vietnam war by the 37 ARRS.

I agree. And I think MITCH is right about the Jolly Green not being used after Vietnam.From what I could find they used the beaver with penetrator. Nice looking patch.Below is a great site for AF insignia.
