Hello, My name is Pat Daniels and I am a new member to this forum. A long time member and close family friend encouraged me to join so here I am.

My Father spent over 40 years collecting Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. He encouraged me to participate with him and we enjoyed his hobby together for the last 30+ years until his unexpected passing a while back. As much as I enjoy the hobby, It's just not the same without Dad and I have reluctantly decided to sell his collection.

I am posting pictures of some of the rarer insignia in hopes of determining a fair value for these items. Since they rarely come up for sale it is hard to know the current value. My sincerest thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Sorry about the giant size of the pictures. I am not computer savvy, to say the least, and I did reduce the file size to around 40-50kb.

Here is a real OSS spearhead patch (left) pictured next to a Marston "copy" and a 502nd PIR S-2 patch.

Those are some exceptionally rare insignia. If you plan to sell them I would list them on ebay with a relatively low starting price. Nothing flies under the radar anymore on ebay, it is a pretty good indicator of the current market. If you want to just sell the collection to a dealer I would recommend either Bill Scott or Bob Chatt both of whom are on the forum. Both are know to treat sellers very fair.

Here is a similar Sugamo Prison Patch on a uniform.

That is absolutely outstanding! That exceeds a 10 on the rare scale. Thank you so much for showing, Pat

Here are a few more nice ones. A nice Australian made Philippine Scouts patch and a 1st SSF with the matching invasion flag. I also have most of the good airborne patches but that is for another day......

Again, thanks to all who have commented and for the very helpful information I have received. This truly is a great forum, Patpost-152100-0-71667700-1419327330.jpgpost-152100-0-17600700-1419327366.jpgpost-152100-0-62794700-1419327448.jpgpost-152100-0-92205300-1419327465.jpg

And finally, a 7th Major Port patch and a 13th Major Port patch. I have never seen either of these in anything other than FE. Any input on these would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again in advance, Pat post-152100-0-32742800-1419328198.jpgpost-152100-0-63332400-1419328229.jpgpost-152100-0-04941000-1419328252.jpgpost-152100-0-83022600-1419328272.jpg

Here are a couple of Japanese War Crimes scrolls which would have been worn over the 8th Army SSI or the GHQ SSI and the WWII Balkans MAAG patch.

Also pictured is the CHUNG patch and a nice assortment of China Language School patches.

A Merry Christmas to all!!! Pat

Here is the actual style of patch which was worn during the Berlin war crimes trials. As far as I know, It is the only U.S. SSI to have a swastika on it. (the old 45th Inf. Div. doesn't count as it was a pre WWII Native American symbol).

Also pictured are some neat Harbor Net Tender variations. The standard white on black, the west coast (Tiburon Ca. naval Net Depot) blue and gold on white twill featuring Oscar the Octopus, and the east coast gold on blue twill (Melville RI. Naval Net Depot) along with a sterling pin and a match book cover.

This is a really nice bullion BRASIL patch featuring the pipe smoking snake. Also pictured is a FE 466 Quarter Masters patch and a couple of 5307th, one in silk and the other a stunning bullion piece.
