February 23, 20233 yr #51 Made it to Louisville. Looking forward to being at the show Thursday and Friday. Focused on Navy and Iwo Jima PHs, and the pacific theater in general. Feel free to say hi if you’d like to meet up or chat.
February 23, 20233 yr #53 Got snowed in at Portland today, and no other options available. So I'm going to miss it. I hope nobody else suffered the same fate. Have fun all; wish I was there!
February 24, 20233 yr #54 I am sorry Chris. I decided not to go for other reasons, but don't know that I could have made it either if I was planning to go…..Northern AZ is a mess, what a storm.
February 24, 20233 yr #56 Thanks for posting the great photos. For those of us stuck home shoveling snow……….more please!
February 24, 20233 yr #57 Ditto. Love the pictures. Those attending please send more photos and would love to hear your stories of what you've found. Wish I could have been there ...
February 24, 20233 yr #58 Anyone find any CDVs, I have a friend that found a binder full in 2020 but hasn’t seen it this trip. Any CDVs? Thanks.
February 24, 20233 yr #59 Ditto to @PhilippineBuckles and @warguy - LOVE seeing the pics! If anyone who is there takes pics, please post them! Super fun to see! :)
February 24, 20233 yr #60 Warguy, sorry you couldn’t make it, I hope we can connect next year, or if I can make it to the Phoenix show again. Here’s a few for you…
February 24, 20233 yr #62 Wow, just great stuff! “Hell Bent for Leather” for sure. I don't remember seeing that many flight jackets last year. Thanks so much for sharing those pics.
February 24, 20233 yr #63 Something needs to be done about buying admission to the show. People were waiting an hour or more in line just to buy a ticket to get in and were upset about it. This is an hour they could have been looking and buying inside the show. The organizers need to look into being able to buy tickets in advance.
February 24, 20233 yr #65 That requires a point of sale system, full time staff, and online resources that I would think are not possible for OVMS to afford/support.

The simple solution to ticketing is to become a member of the OVMS, then you simply walk right in and you can do it earlier than the public. Scott

Scott Is it free admission to the SOS and other shows with an OVMS membership?
February 25, 20233 yr #70 Thanks @Dirk for the pictures! Super fun! That's some fun stuff to see! How is attendance compared to past years?
February 25, 20233 yr #71 Imho attendance this year is better then last year as the Covid threat is down, but more importantly, I have been here since Wednesday and fresh stuff keeps coming out onto the tables, even when you think things have been picked, over you can still find great stuff. Marine collectors should do pretty well at this show. Allan H provided a great primer for SOS prep that is spot on…well worth reading. Bring comfortable shoes and cash…..lots of cash. rarely are prices listed what the seller wants so there are good negotiating opportunities. For me the show was a positive.
February 25, 20233 yr #72 Dirk, thanks for the wonderful photos. Made my night! I have to live vicariously through you guys.
