seanmc1114 Posted October 30, 2008 #1 Posted October 30, 2008 I stopped by a surplus store in Columbus, Georgia just outside Ft. Benning today and picked up the following three DCU's for $22.00 total. I would guess the first one might have been worn during the 3rd Infantry Division's first tour in Iraq in 2003 because of the woodland pattern insignia. The tapes are not embroidered on on cotton webbing but instead are embroidered on folded over cotton cloth like they did in Vietnam. I think they are theater made.
seanmc1114 Posted October 30, 2008 Author #2 Posted October 30, 2008 The second one appears to have all U.S. made insignia but I really like the reverse 2nd Infantry Division SSI worn as a combat patch on the right sleeve.
seanmc1114 Posted October 30, 2008 Author #3 Posted October 30, 2008 The third one is really neat because I think the 2nd Infantry Division patch is theater made. It appears to be narrower than the standard type, the weave pattern is looser and even though it is merrowed-edged, the finish is different than the standard type and it almost looks like a cut-edge patch.
seanmc1114 Posted October 30, 2008 Author #4 Posted October 30, 2008 Here's a closer look at the last one.
