the USAF Security Service had a squadron stationed there from 1952 to 1966 at RAF Station Kirknewton, Scotland. The squadron was the 37th Radio Squadron Mobile (1952 to 1955) then renamed 6952nd Radio Squadron Mobile (1955 to 1963) then renamed to the 6952nd Security Group (1963 to 1966)

I have no idea what the C at the top of the patch would stand for and the R is missing from RAF kirknewton on the patch.

The "C" would be for C Flight(?). The different shifts of the ditty boppers in the security service squadrons were usually designated with letters.
