USN Hemostatic Forceps Case

Found this inside an old first aid kit at an estate sale today.

Pretty sure it didn't belong in there, but not sure where and when such an item would've been used.

Would this have been something carried by say a Battalion Surgeon or Navy sick bay officer?

It's full of different types of forceps.

Fairly interesting item, being khaki, I'm assuming WWII era but really don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

No dates that I can find anywhere...but most of the forceps have markings on them. "MD USN" is on almost all of them, and what I assume to be different manufacturers' names or perhaps models? No dates on them though.

I believe you will find this set in Corpsmans bags as well. This is one of a variety of tool sets used by Naval medical personel.

Great find
