everforward Posted November 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2009 Anyone ever ran across any info on how many mfg. contracts there were for Army wool blankets during the war..? I know that there was a woolen mill where I live that had a contract to make them...I've never seen a labeled blanket from my town but I am always looking....just wondering if anyone here has ever done research on them....thanks in advance. craig_pickrall Posted November 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 5, 2009 You can search the web for a copy of this disc. It has all of the contracts for $50,000 or more listed. The titles of items can be deceptive though. The same item may not have the same name for every contract. I have researched a couple of items that it seems were mis-named in order to conceal the true product. I don't know if that was an attempt to fool the enemy or the US Gov't. LtRGFRANK Posted November 6, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2009 I don't have any info on contracts but I have a WWII dated blanket made by Faribault Mills out of Faribault, Minn. They are still in business and I've visited them and bought new blankets from them.. Robert
