katieony Posted October 1 Share #1 Posted October 1 Here's an interesting 6th Corps ID badge to a member of the 4th Vermont Volunteers. There is only one soldier in Company F roster with the initials "A.A.G." Albert A. Graves was from Brattleboro, enlisted on August 24, 1861, mustered in on September 21, 1861, and was wounded during the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862. His wound was severe enough that he was discharged for disability on March 6, 1863. That's as far as I've researched the badge. Not something I typically collect and may end up offering it for sale. The badge measures 1 1/4" wide x 1 1/4" tall with a T-bar pin on the reverse.

tdogchristy90 Posted October 1 Share #3 Posted October 1 Very nice! I developed a soft spot for the battle after visiting there last year.
USCapturephotos Posted October 2 Share #4 Posted October 2 That’s a nice corps badge! I hunted some of their camps before 3rd Winchester and found one nice coat size Vermont button along with other relics. Paul

It's a very interesting and historical battlefield and town. I think most people spend most their time at the Marye's Heights / Sunken Road area of the battlefield and don't visit the Slaughter Pen Farm area (which in recent years has been preserved) where significant fighting took place.
