Stressman Posted June 22, 2024 #1 Posted June 22, 2024 I have read that reproduction Mk II grenade fuzes have been available in the past. How do you recognize one of these reproductions? Is there anything inscribed on the top surface of the spoons?
Kaptainssurplus Posted June 23, 2024 #3 Posted June 23, 2024 Most of the fake/replicas are very easy to spot, they are very poorly made and the spoon and fuze body look new and do not have good fitment. Most don't have markings on the spoon, they lack the primer and fuze det remnants as well. There are some replica fuzes that are very well made, like those in the post dirt detective posted, but if you look in detail even those can be spotted.
917601 Posted June 23, 2024 #4 Posted June 23, 2024 Also, look for sealant color. Greenish, an M10 series ( correct) or Red for a detonator fuze used in very late TNT filled grenades. …search the forum, I posted much with pics years ago.
Stressman Posted June 23, 2024 Author #5 Posted June 23, 2024 To 917601: I am not successful at finding the earlier posts that you mentioned. What search words should I be using to locate these posts?

What search words should I be using to locate these posts? From the MAIN forum page, scroll to the bottom and look for "Firearms - Ordnance" click on that then click on the Ordnance page and you can look for Grenade. Lots of old post save there. Probably not a lot about fake fuzes. Post some pics maybe we can help you out.
