VNAMVET70 Posted March 2 Share #1 Posted March 2 Was very amused this morning when viewing this 1968 Gerber knife on eBay. Serial # 7768 . As Arte Johnson would say...."very interesting".
opseccc Posted March 3 Share #2 Posted March 3 It has been on eBay for several weeks. It is not one of the known "SIGMA" knives Gerber made. I have seen another one, similar to this one, that was made by someone after initial purchase. If you look closely at the guard, one side has been broken off, and had a poor replacement reattached. With no proof of who did this knife, I can only imagine the tall tails that went along with it, by the person who had it made. Again, I have no proof who made this knife (as I reached out to the seller with no answer). If it was done by/for a documented Project Sigma team member (which I doubt), I mean no disrespect. opseccc Posted March 3 Share #3 Posted March 3 I forgot to mention that the sheath was not sold with this knife. The sheath is what is commonly known as a RT2 sheath. They were sold with earlier knives that had serial numbers close to 003333 - 005266.
