McLaughlin Posted March 1 Share #1 Posted March 1 Hi, John W. McLaughlin was my granddad and was the pilot of the B-17 Bomber plane “Shack Job” during WW2. We have a blown up picture of the crew, all the names, standing in front of the plane!! Please reach out to me if anyone is looking for information or pictures! TBMflyer Posted March 1 Share #2 Posted March 1 Michael, the only B-17 named 'Shack Job' belonged to the 388th Bomb Group, 561st Bomb Squadron and was lost over Germany on March 6, 1944. The aircraft #42-31240 was on it's 7th mission when lost. PM me for more information, hope this helps, Mark

Please post the crew photo of your granddad here when you have enough posts to do that. My father was in the 418th, also a B-17 squadron, 8th AF, 1944-45. Crew of Robert Evans.
