Found this kool looking cartoon insignia of Sylvester the Cat on Ebay. Believe was mis identified as 501st Airborne but enough clues to let me know it was military for the Korean War period. Insignia depicts the map of Korea and has the 8th Army insignia plus Sylvester with lightening bolts for one hand. After some research determined it was the 501st Army Security Communication Recon Group. Never saw the insignia before but am a sucker for cartoon insignia and won the item. The insignia is actually a leather drink coaster about 4' in diameter. Enjoy

Good Morning Mort,

Hope this post finds you and yours doing well.

I just came across this post after being off the net for several years. Do you still have it?

My Father a career Army Security Agency soldier served with the 330th Communications Reconnaissance Company (which fell under the 501st Communications Reconnaissance Group) during the Korean War Aug 1952 - May 1953.
