firebird_one Posted March 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2009 Hi, Could anyone please tell me something about 6th special forces? all I know about them is that the were activated in May 63 and deactivated in 1971. J_Andrews Posted March 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2009 The 6th was area-oriented on Africa and it did not deploy from Ft Bragg, beyond sending small detachments to Africa, probably Mobile Training Teams (MTT). It also acted as training and replacement depot for other SF Gps, i.e. new guys awaiting overseas orders or returnees from overseas. Whne I was in school at Bragg in early 1970, all the "garrison type" SFers were wearing 6th SFGA, JFKCEN or Training Gp flashes. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
