Capt.Confederacy Posted January 10, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2023 On a recent excursion to prowl around some antique malls, I ran across a stack of joke/risque material in a ziplock bag for a $5.00. I was unsure of the age of the most of the items (fake diplomas, risque joke booklets, etc.), but several trading cards included with the pile that looked WW2 era. I was unaware of any such cards printed, but I decided to take a gamble and buy the lot anyway. After purchasing the lot, I did some research and found out the cards were printed buy Gum, Inc. in 1944 under the series title of "American Beauties". They're pretty mild by today's standards, but I'm sure they were borderline scandalous in WW2. I also had some success in digging up some 1941 and 1942 military-related trading cards which I'll post when I get some decent pictures of them.
