Hello I found this drinking bottle cup in the forest where the 26th and 96th US Infantry Division fought. (Serrig/ Germany) San Diego Calif is engraved on the cup, the number is probably the home address.

 

 Maybe someone can help me identify the soldier.

Here is a website where you can search laundry numbers. It's not complete but may give you a starting point.

Right, it's the first letter of his last name and the last four digits of his Army serial number.
