Heres another one I've had for a few years. Its not an official badge, but I got it from a vet who seemed very proud of it. I haven't seen it anywhere else on the forum, so here it is along with the info from his website.

The Imjin Rifle Badge. Awarded by the 24th INF DIV between 1955 and 1957 for service along the western sector of the DMZ.

The actual date this award was first authorized and ended is unknown. We do know it had a short award period because either the Department of the Army or 8th Army HQ instructed the division to cease making the award. The IRB is the same as the 7th ID Order of the Bayonet Badge and 2nd ID Imjin Scout Patch division awards.

The criteria for receiving the IR Badge (also called The Musket) was 25 patrols in the DMZ or 125 hours of service in the DMZ (patrols, work details, escort duty, work detail security, etc. combined). Coming under hostile fire was an automatic award of the IRB and removed the number of hours or patrols requirement.

Those are some nice looking awards guys.

Sivart,

You've been busy. Thanks for posting that Vanguard. I was watching that one too.

I just noticed that your example doesn't have a trigger guard. Curious??

The trigger guard and the hammer are missing! No idea what the significance of that is, perhaps if this is a salesmans copy or prototype they didnt bother with too much detail. I was really hoping someone here with a bit more experience could shed some light.

Jim, quiet sector + deployment pay = lots of time to pick up new toys!

Craig, it appears that both our examples were made using the same machine, they have a very similar vertical impression just to the right of the NS shield that runs down through the wreath.

Brig,

From what I have been told about one I have like it, Asian (Japanese). The wreath on mine is very dull.

I really like this one. Beautiful work.

A little group I just got off eBay. I like the fancy Meyer pieces, especially the EIB's.

Nice group of Meyers CIB's, I had my eye on those as well! I really like those Asian made pieces, I need to add one to my collection, yours looks flawless Jim.

Jim,

Indeed, I was after these as well! At least now I know who out bid me (smile) .....

Thanks guys. I was going to keep the better of the two Meyers CIBs, and then looking at the back, one of the makers marks is off center. Kind of different. May still sell it though.

Any idea of the date of the mini EIB? The reverse is very shiney.

Sivart,

My Asian CIB is stamped and has great detail, but the wreath is very dull. Brig's appears to be cast.
