SFTROOPER86 Posted June 9, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2022 Greetings, I recently acquired these ultra-rare U.S.S. artifacts from a very old Arizona collection. It is my understanding that the Crossed Arrows USS insignia is a cap badge. This badge has all four of its original prongs in place and is in perfect condition. The second piece of insignia is the one I have a question about. It is a blackened U.S.S. with pin-back. I have seen period photos showing this item used as a cap badge, but it seems to be more like an Officer's collar device. Can anyone please help me with any particulars of this insignia collection? The cap cords came with these insignia and from my research they are correct for an Indian Scout to be worn on their cap. What unit/s operated in Arizona and would have worn this insignia? Many thanks, Vince
