trenchrat1918 Posted December 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2021 I'd like to share a service banner I recently aquired. This WW2 rayon banner probably came from a Coke bottler or distributor. Unfortunately the 17 stars tell a sad story, only 4 are still blue, 6 are silver and 7 are gold. Sadly this business experienced an extraordinarily high number of killed, wounded or captured. VMI88 Posted December 2, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 2, 2021 I assume the silver stars symbolize "wounded"? I've never seen that before. Great homefront item!

Yes although still not yet officially adopted, the silver stars generally represent WIA.
