All things ERDL

I was out and about in Hollywood today doing Hollywood stuff and went to one of my favorite vintage shops and Came across a nice 25th ID leaf pattern shirt that’s named with in country patches mixed with twill type.

It’s always a joy to me to find Cammo in the raw and this one has it all.

I also noticed we do not have a proper go 2 ERDL thread so here goes

My wife’s father was in the 25th and sadly died way to young from after effects of agent orange so Andy this thread is dedicated to you and the memory of all vets who have passed from AO.

Here’s both Viet and US made together
The combat infantry mans badge is of course the pride of a combat mans service and worn with pride.
This combat shirt has the award proudly displayed in its regulation location.
This shirt is size small short.

Nice example,  Owen.  Tough to find fully badged ERDL of any kind.

Thanks for posting and keeping this man's memory alive. I posted alot of my father's WW2 memorabilia on this website as an insurance if I "lose " any artifacts a digital copy will remain as long as this forum does.

Caring about Vietnam veterans uniform items falls on the later collectors who care about this type of thing
Usually a veteran says it’s old green smelly stuff.
As this posting matures I will post camouflage that no one has seen before to include original photos and uniforms.

Great idea for a dedicated thread. ERDL isn’t the most exotic or rare camo out there but it’s my favorite.

Looking forward to more.

The basic leaf pattern was used on many items as the war progressed.
Here is a first print poplin cloth beret that was fabricated by a local tailor shop.
Cloth was shipped to Vietnam for this purpose but I have yet to get to the bottom if it was sold on the open market or skimmed of a government contractor by a cousin !

Also the classic M-1 helmet for the ARVN ranger regt.
One can clearly see classic Leaf shape in the established lime green piece of the pattern.

The uniform was liked by all who wore it.
Local tailor shops were employed to make modifications and added their own shop label to mark their work on a US manufactured garment

As erdl cloth made its way into Vietnam there appeared custom items like unique Viet trousers like this

Note many features not seen on US made items.

I will cover all deeper in
