chris3bs Posted October 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2019 This is what I believe a WW2 Ammo bag/pouch. This is a first for me. I was unable to find the stenciling until the strap was flipped over. Has the elastic holders for shotgun shells on the front. Probably the inside could be storage for grenades. Found this in a lot of military items.

Navybean Posted October 29, 2019 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2019 I believe the bags is a US Army medics bag with a shoulder sling. Typically the bags will not have any markings

Browninggunner688 Posted October 29, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 29, 2019 All the medics bags I've seen have these loops sewn on, I have 4 bags in my collection and they are there, including an OD7 bag. Not a modified bag in any shape or form. Just a nice honest medics bag. No idea what they are for though, often wondered the use for them. These bags are not dated or manufacturer stamped, ( you will find these WW2 bags with post war French stamps on the outside front ) the strap is the common GP strap used for several bags. Just Google US WW2 medics bag and loads of pictures come up.

robinb Posted October 30, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 30, 2019 The loops on the back were to secure the bag to a mounted troopers saddle bags.
