iron bender Posted March 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2019 Happy to pick this up from one of our members. Going through the Keller books I believe immediate postwar Japanese. Interesting weave with what appears to be a black backer, giving the bird and the eye a definite outline. If you have better info on where made I'd love to hear it. Thanks in advance! iron bender Posted March 5, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted March 5, 2019 Having the OD border I think it's made shortly after WW2. Again looking through references I think it's Japanese made immediate post war. (Late 40's early 50's). I'm positive some of the old pros here can look and pinpoint it like a stinky diaper on a baby
iron bender Posted March 6, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted March 6, 2019 Guys, I've been corrected on this patch. A knowledgeable 45th collector has pointed out that these patches were most likely French manufactured, possibly wartime or very early postwar. Maybe German. Still my favorite 45th patch in my collection to this point!
