Tomg Posted February 2, 2019 #1 Posted February 2, 2019 How do they give an A-2 collar that stiff shape and look like in these photos?
doyler Posted February 2, 2019 #2 Posted February 2, 2019 Its just the thickness of the leather....most all collars will "stand up" when new.Collars tend to be made with two layers of leather giving it the double thickness. The collar is "turned up" or will stand when flipped up and not folded down.
daskrieg Posted February 2, 2019 #3 Posted February 2, 2019 you have to be cool just like the Fonz for it the happen. Or go with the answer previously stated
phantomfixer Posted February 2, 2019 #4 Posted February 2, 2019 Classic look for the A2...just hunch on its origin...and I could be overthinking this...but..when taking off the life preserver..the collar tends to flip up..and after hours in the cockpit...you might never have noticed...or they just liked the look...
