This is my really minty A8 O mask. The bladder is solid and very supple. Still has some talc on it from storage. About as nice A8 as you're likely to find. In fact I looked on the net and every one of these I found the bladder was ruptured. I have mi e listed in the for sale section.

Here are some more photos LB. I think you can see all the info. I have a question for you. There is what I guess is a date.....it shows "August 1972" what the heck is that? Certainly they were not using this mask in 1972.

Thanks.

Actually I saw listed on eBay some of the A-8 mask listed as 1960s production just recently. Could be they were still in use somewhere.

Holy cow! I didn't know that and never saw this date until today. That's crazy. Thanks for that info 38 driv.

Guess I'll have to drop the price.

These were produced for decades after the war and used well up into the 70s on many old birds. The WWII vintage A8s will have leather straps and the green color of the bags is usually more OD, also bakalite nose piece is a different and often black plastic. You are absolutely correct about the breather bags, finding an original still in descent shape is a rare thing. They certainly weren't made to last. Here is a wartime example for comparison.

Thanks mr_lits for the info. Starting to think I made a very bad deal. Serves me right for not researching the item before I purchased it.

Can you please give me a price I should ask for this piece.

Thanks for your help.
