As the title suggests I'm looking for any information about this particular unit for a friend.

His grandfather served with them in Normandy through to the Rhineland and now he lives in the UK thanks to his job he wants to use the opportunity to travel to Normandy and see where the unit saw action.

As I understand it they landed at Utah beach a few days after the invasion and established positions in that area to provide AAA defence.

Given the nature of the unit not much has been written online about them and I can only find articles dating to their time with the 78th Div later in the ETO.

If anyone has any info about the unit's time in Normandy I'd be most grateful!

Thanks

Seems they protected La Londe Airfield (Normandy) from June 12 to July 25, 1944.

According to the monument below ...

Jeeper,

Many thanks for this! This should make a great starting point!

Thanks again

No worries.

There is not a lot on the internet about them.

But you should be able to piece their general history together.

I'll try to find out more in the books I have, but if I find anything that would be more from the December 44 - January 45 period.
