Vix Steel Posted November 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2015 Rescued this N2 Jacket today. Its rough, some staining, missing one button, stencil is faded and has a small tear on the back. I assume this is Korean War era with the wolf? Is there an interest in these in this condition. Thanx!

Sabrejet Posted November 6, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2015 I have a similar '59 contract one by Rollen Sportwear in great shape...just a few pulls on the knitwear...and a lush wolf's fur trim. These are very popular with Japanese collectors who'll pay top dollar for good, wearable ones.
Longbranch Posted November 6, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2015 These are very popular with Japanese collectors who'll pay top dollar for good, wearable ones. I totally agree with this. I've sold a few flight jackets to buyers in Japan, including a 1950s N-3B parka with some very noticeable fading/discoloration on the hood and shoulders, and a few large stains on the back. There is certainly demand for jackets showing some obvious wear, but obviously the worth/value will take a hit. Personally, I rather like these jackets to have some "character". Pluto Posted November 6, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2015 nice example. Would have been manufactured around 1950-52, before the blue version was produced.
Bullseye881 Posted November 7, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 7, 2015 Nice jacket. Although it has some condition issues the rarity of the original N-2's (I probably see 10 Vietnam era N-2B's for every one N-2 jacket) make it valuable.
