SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted February 25, 2017 Author Share #801 Posted February 25, 2017 Here is a quick side-by-side of the two pamphlets, you can see why I almost skipped right over it! SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted March 21, 2017 Author Share #802 Posted March 21, 2017 Back at it again. Today we start with M.C.R.B 66651 9-12-35 15M. This is another brochure highlighting the educational opportunities in the Marines through the Marine Corps Institute. This is an earlier version of the M.C.P.B. 71370 pamphlet that Terry posted on page 3, post 68.

SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted March 21, 2017 Author Share #808 Posted March 21, 2017 Due to the time consuming nature of scanning these recruiting booklets and pamphlets, I have decided that from this point forward, I will only scan the covers. If anyone does want interior scans, feel free to contact me here or by PM and I will be more than happy to oblige.
SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted March 22, 2017 Author Share #809 Posted March 22, 2017 Here is a series which includes "Life in Boot Camp" (NAVMC 5903 PB / MCPB 140882 (4-26-48) 200M.), "Life at Sea" (RED - NAVMC 5904 PB / MCPB 141583 (2-16-49) 200M.) (Yellow - NAVMC 5904 / MCNPB 40172 (6-1-53) 100M.) and "Life in the Fleet Marine Force" (LARGE - NAVMC 5911 PB / MCNPB 143886 (7-15-52) 200M.) (SMALL - NAV MC 6617 and NAV MC 6617 (Rev. 1958). The larger pieces are 9" x 12" and the smaller ones measure about 6" x 8.5". One of the smaller books came with a packet of recruiting media which I will post later. The first small "Fleet" book is undated but has to be pre-1958 since that is the revised edition. The interiors are the same, save for some different photos. I also wonder if the "Fleet" and "Boot Camp" have earlier versions in different colors like "Sea" or if "Boot Camp" and "Sea" came in the smaller sizes! Only time will tell! SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted March 22, 2017 Author Share #814 Posted March 22, 2017 An "Aid to insignia recognition" postcard, H-4501, postmarked 1945. This, interestingly, shows a TANK CORPS device which I have seen on several documents and questioned. I believe this was just a mistake made by non-military organizations. SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted March 22, 2017 Author Share #825 Posted March 22, 2017 Female recruiting brochure, no ID but dated 02/00. Cover reads: "Where is that girl that lived in your mind? Wuite often you wanted to be more like her. She was ponytails to your barrettes, an a-minus to your b-plus.. When you threw like a girl, she threw harder. She went by your name and followed you everywhere."
