patchguy Posted September 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2014 Pretty neat tab... I'd guess it was for the 45th Reconnaissance Troop, 45th Inf Div.
tredhed2 Posted September 14, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 14, 2014 There was also a 45th Cav Rcn Sq (Mech) during WW II, which never left CONUS.
WorldWarPatches Posted September 15, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted September 15, 2014 I'm aware of both units just not sure which one had this shoulder title. Thanks both
ocsfollowme Posted February 11 Share #5 Posted February 11 It’s cut out from this. The first one that I found did not have the years on it.

Well this tab bring US-made might suggest it being a CONUS-based unit.
KurtA Posted February 11 Share #7 Posted February 11 Wow. Just noticed your observation about it being cut out (with proof). Went from being a great tab to junk, just like that.
ocsfollowme Posted February 11 Share #8 Posted February 11 It was on a shooting jacket with two patches from Panama Canal. I pulled a Panama Canal newspaper with the top patch. https://www.ebay.com/itm/355451931622?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180105095853%26meid%3D8e14a854cff341f3983e171cbb24afc0%26pid%3D100903%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D20%26sd%3D355451931622%26itm%3D355451931622%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2332490&_trksid=p2332490.c100903.m5276
lamarhooten Posted February 14 Share #9 Posted February 14 I always wondered if this was origin of this tab. Or at least something like it. I have had mine for a while now.

I heard there was a decent military shop in P-town. I don't know where anything is at up there. Any other info you have or possible good stops? I've hit most of the antique places there, but really didn't find anything. Would appreciate your input. Ben
