JimD Posted March 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2014 Is the M1917 US LF&C trench knife or the scabbard currently being reproduced? I am referring to the one with the triangular blade and the pyramid knuckle bow. I saw a decent one for sale but was a little wary due to its excellent condition. The metal throat and the metal tip on the scabbard both had the initials MS stamped and the metal tip of the scabbard has a small hole, I guess for water to drain. Scabbard marked Jewell 1918. It seems to have all the right attributes but I do not know if accurate repros are in the marketplace. I do not have pics of the knife. Thanks in advance. sactroop Posted March 16, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 16, 2014 Regarding at least two style sheaths that are reproduced the subject has been brought up before. Search this forum for "prairie flower" and it will bring it up.
1563621 Posted March 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 16, 2014 There is one company, prairie leather, but they mark their scabbards as theirs.
gunbarrel Posted March 16, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 16, 2014 There is one company, prairie leather, but they mark their scabbards as theirs. And they do their best to make sure that there is no doubt that their product is a reproduction (and it is a top-notch U.S. made reproduction).
