Iron On Patches.

Good morning everyone,

 

I'm a bit of a new starter on collecting US Navy WWII militaria, after collecting army gear for a good 7+ years.

 

I've got a few questions:

 

1) Were the iron on patches used on denim shirts during WWII?

 

2) If not, what sort of rank insignia patches were used?

 

3) Where can I get them? Repro or original?

No rank was worn by enlisted on dungaree's in WW2 even by Chief's who were distinguished by the signature cap. Sometimes you see rank on the od fatigues and rarely on helmets but it was the exception and not the rule.
